The chaffcutter was fuelled by fire. Lots of workers came in and it was an exciting event for a little girl. More exciting were the multitude of nests of baby mice under the tarpaulins. I took a little family home in a hankie to show my 3 year old brother. My mum circumvented this and was also not fascinated by these squirming perfect little bodies and their temporary survival was quickly curtailed. So was my freedom to come and go.frangipaninoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23502762.post-59559040289706693912011-06-28T12:40:19.048+10:002011-06-28T12:40:19.048+10:00Trauma! Like you, there are times that the child in me empathises with my children's actions, but the parent in me does what she think she should. Each time this happens, it feels like I'm killing off a little bit of that childlike wonder in me and them. So hard.Sally Rippinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17925937323236380791noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23502762.post-89725376177146480632011-06-28T06:42:48.000+10:002011-06-28T06:42:48.000+10:00Thanks Penni, this moved me this morning.
